Mustangs West May 2007 Newsletter


Meeting was called to order at 7:06 P.M.,  May 3rd, 2007 at Hawks Prairie Restaurant by Club President Karena Peterson.
 
Treasurers report was given by Jean Doan and approved by the club.
 
Minutes from April's Meeting were read and corrected by Jon regarding the P-51. The plane that has been used for photo-ops will not be leaving the museum.  All other minutes were approved as posted online and brought to meeting.
 
New members and visitors were introduced.
 
V.P. Jim Cassidy introduced new artwork for future projects such as TShirts and dash plaques.  Copies of artwork were passed around for review.
 
Pres. Karena gave a review on how the car shows at Allstar, at Bickford Ford SVTOA, and the Yelm picnic/show in April.  Karena met a fellow Mustang enthusiast at the Yelm Picnic/Show and they have joined Mustangs West.  Also mentioned was that Portland show was cancelled.
 
Member Al discussed the up and coming car shows of the late spring and summer.  Armed Forces Day, Lake Fair Car Show and the Lake Fair Parade.  Al is requesting that those with convertible's who wish to help in the parade by driving the Princess' or others please get with him as soon as possible.  Al talked about the Lake Fair car show's request to Mustang's West to sponsor classes this year, 5 classes for $150.  A motion was made to select and sponsor 5 classes.  A discussion was made about the possibility of reciprication in the Lake Fair car show sponsoring some of the classes of the Mustang's West show.  Al will review with the Lake Fair Car Show committee..  The motion set previously was approved.
 
President Karena spoke about the car show's coming up in May.  Temporary sign up sheets were made and distributed for the Richland show and the Spring into Summer show.
 
Member Dayna was asked to discuss the MW Car Show progress.  Dayna presented artwork for the Tshirts which was discussed by the club.  Corrections to the shirt will be made.  V.P. Jim presented his previous artwork as an alternative for the club shirts.  The club discussed both and designs were voted on by members.  Dayna expressed to members that this was the last day to order specialty Mustang's West Shirts as the order was being sent in.   Also discussed was sponsorship was to be started at the end of the meeting.  Dayna will be the point contact for now for sponsorship, and an email will be dispatched periodically showing what categories have been taken.  Also discussed was the need to have those classes placed on the web as soon as they have happened for members so as not to sell twice.  Secretary Chris was asked by Dayna to head up the Registration and vote tallying committee.  V.P. Jim was asked to head up the categorizing and member Erik was asked to head up parking.
 
Member Louis discussed the up and coming Shelton Drags @ Sanderson Field and mentioned that the Pony Trails will be ending their cruise there.  He highlighted the points of contacts for the cruise.
 
V.P. Jim spoke about the Test and Tune night, the 11th of May @ Bremerton Raceway.  Jim also answered further questions on the Jack Roush topic of late.  Jim talked about the May 19th and 20th M.A.D. show at Fast Specialties was coming.
 
The club discussed the dissatisfaction about the All-Star Ford incident and their treatment of the club members by some of the dealership's staff.  The topic will be further touched on at the next meeting once more information has been obtained.
 
V.P. Reminded everyone that the Harnish Show on the July 14th falls on the Round Up weekend, but only on the Judged day so those who are not entering the judged show, should show up and support the club and Harnish.
 
Dana gave a report that Bickford Ford had no less than 14 Shelby's, Saleens, and a Parnelli Jones car.
 
New purchases or improvements:  Jean has a new T-5 and exhaust installed in hercar, and Jim has purchased another car, a red 1966 coupe with a 9" already installed.
