Mustangs West June 2007 Newsletter


 
Meeting was called to order at 7:11 P.M. on June 7th, 2007, by Club President Karena Peterson
 
Treasurers Report was delayed.
 
Club Secretary gave the minutes of the last meeting as posted online and brought to the meeting.  Minutes were read and approved by the club.
 
New guests were introduced.  There were several new guests and old "guests" and members at attendance this week.
 
Treasurers report was given by Jean Doan and approved by the club.
 
Member Al was the first to speak about the clubs interest in the FT Warden cruise.  It was decided to move the cruise to another date due to inclement weather and participation.  Secretary Chris emailed Webmaster at the meeting to have notice it was cancelled.
 
Al also spoke about the categories Mustangs West is sponsoring for the Lakefair car show.  Several were presented for the clubs approval.  The Lake Fair Parade was touched on.  Those who cant remember if they signed up show up anyway.  Convertibles are needed for the parade that will be on the 21st of July.  
 
Al talked about the Elma Chamber of Commerce has asked our club to do a gathering in Elma to help support their mini car show in late August.  Date still pending.
 
Karena... Club show chair Dayna was not in attendance, but relayed a message that the TShirts are almost done and that sponsorship classes are going quick.  Sell the rest soon.  Club VP Jim mentioned that if more sponsorship is available, adding more categories like best paint, etc might be possible.
 
Member Chuck spoke about the Richland trip and his experience.  Jim also touched on the subject regarding his 1st ticket in a long time going to that show.
 
VP Jim talked about the M.A.D. event at Fast Specialties and the Dyno Days.  The event turned out well and was fun to be at.  The Bremerton Raceway test and tune was successful.  5 members showed, a couple failed the tech inspection due to clothing worn, ironically, not due to the car.
 
Al had an impromptu barbeque that a few members went to and all had fun.
 
Club President Karena spoke about the upcoming Concorde California show, and there will be a small caravan going consisting of at least Karena and Jim so far.
 
VP Jim reminded members that the Hornish Dealership show is coming soon and we need to go out and support it.  Show is on the 14th of July.
 
Member Russ talked about many car shows that are coming up through the year and that he has or would post them on the forum board.
 
Mike from Tranzit Motorsports has stated that he will have a small get together at his shop for a BBQ.  Please keep an eye on the board for dates.
 
Member Chuck spoke about 5 Star Ford wanting to sponsor our club as well as be the primary sponsor for the show.  VP Jim has stated that Hornish wants to sponsor as well.  One of the new quests who works at All Star has made mention that All Star has no idea about our feelings over the matter and is sure repairing the relationship and sponsorship is forthcoming.  Jim made mention that maybe a multiple sponsorship is needed or wanted.  Further thought on the subject will be required.
 
A reminder by Karena was made about the 4th of July Club Picnic and BBQ is still on at Jerry's place and to remind members that it is not on the 4th of July, but the 1st of July.  A sign up sheet was passed around.  An email to all members will go out regarding food items to bring.
 
VP Jim made an announcement that Tammy Petty needed help moving on Saturday and members are encouraged to volunteer. 
 
Donations for WC's care package was collected by club Treasurer Jean, and any more should be brought to her or Tammy.
 
Member Keith spoke about the FireCreek Alehouse  has a cruise in every Thursday now for hot rods and we should put together one.
 
Member Chuck made an announcement that the Airshow is coming on the 16th-18the weekend and that there will be warbirds in attendance at the airport.
 
New business and purchases:  Jim purchased 3 more cars, Chris purchased one of his, Jacob has a new fox body convertible, and Keith purchased a new silver Mustang convert.    Gerald is the proud owner of a new Stage 3 Roush
 
Raffle items were drawn, while member Patrick spoke about some of the items he donated.
