Club Secretary gave the minutes of the last
meeting as posted online and brought to the meeting. Minutes
were read and approved by the club...
Al was introduced to speak first about the
Tumwater Parade's success. It went well, despite another heat
related casualty towards the end of the drive. The veterans had
a great experience in the parade riding with club members Dixon,
Lewallen and McDonald who drove them. All of the cars that
committed showed up.
Member Patrick talked about the show and how
much fun he had.
Club member and Show Chair Dayna presented
the club with the new club Tshirts which are being sold for $10
each for now, but the cost will go to $15 by the time of the
show. We have 22 sponsors so far for the show and only 13 more
are needed, hopefully filling up by Labor Day. Awards have been
ordered and the main sponsor/s is being negotiated currently.
We still need chairs for the raffle table and the goody bags.
Karena mentioned that pre-registrations are
starting to come in and to keep an eye out for them.
Member Lou spoke about the parade and how
much fun he and his wife had at it. Member Patrick also talked
about his lost MW flag that was last seen on Isreal Rd.
President Karena and Vice Pres. Jim spoke
about the California Nationals show that they and others
attended. It was a huge success and most who went actually
judged many of the categories. The Hodown was fun, the trophies
and the judging were well executed and it was a fantastic time
had by all. Also mentioned was the "toll booth" incident. Next
years National will be a Grand National and will be held in
Utah.
V.P. Jim talked about the 1st of July
picnic. Not as many members showed up this year, probably
attributed to the fact that the holiday fell in the middle of
the week, but fun was had by all and the firworks were neat.
Also mentioned by Jim was that he tried to
get member WC's car to the Fort Lewis show that weekend of the
parade, but turned into a disaster and was forced to bail on it
and get Herbie the love bug. It took 2nd. Jim received
multiple raffle items and door prizes.
New quests and old guests were introduced by
Karena.
Lou mentioned that the Bellingham cars will
be in Shelton for the cars next week, not the week previously
indicated.
Jim noted the Bellevue show is coming up.
Member Al spoke about the Lakefair car show
that is coming up and that the registration is ending soon. The
Lakefair parade is on the 21st and he still needs one more
convertible, as Patrick is going on another adventure with his
employers and has to back out. Also needed are a few extra cars
for the main part of the parade, not to drive dignitaries.
Also mentioned was our carshow was mentioned
in the Mustang Times, as there is an ad placed in it.
Member Chuck spoke about Five Star seriously
wanting to support our club in any way possible and wants to
have a "show off" in Aberdeen. He is requesting as many cars as
possible show up to participate. 75000 flyers went out
regarding the July 22nd show at 11am. Afterwhich, there will be
a Potluck at Chucks house. Gathering time to cruise up there
will be at 9am at South Sound Mall, per Jim.
Dayna suggests that all who are not doing
roundup, show up at the Harnish Show to support member Del, who
is helping with that show. Those who are going should meet at
8:30 at the Lacey Mcdonalds on that Saturday. More information
will be emailed and posted on the board regarding both shows.
Karena spoke about a few shows coming up: The
Gig Harbor show on the 28th, and the Port Orchard show on the
29th. Members going to the latter should meet at 8am on the
29th at McDonalds. Further info will be emailed out and placed
on the board.
Raffle tickets were drawn.
Meeting was adjourned at 8:19.
