Mustangs West April 2007 Newsletter


Meeting was called to order at 7:07 P.M., April 5th at Hawks Prairie Restaurant by President Karena Peterson.
 
Treasurers report was given by Jean Doan and approved by the club.
 
Minutes from March's meeting were read approved as posted on line and at meeting.
 
New members and visitors were introduced.
 
Vice President Jim Cassidy gave a summary of how the Griots Garage gathering went.  Also mentioned was the goodbye party for Club member WC, held at the Brewery City Pizza at the end of March.  Both events went well and had a good club turnout/participation.
 
Member Del Wiggins inquired about another gathering to Griots, as well as interest in having them come to the Club Show in September.  Club was very interested in them attending the show, further interest in another gathering is pending further review of Mustang show scheduled events.
 
Member Al has more sweatshirts and tshirts leftover.  If interested, please contact him as he is trying to get rid of some inventory.  Al also reminded the club about the upcoming Corvette All City Rally and Picnic in Yelm, both coming soon.  Please refer to events schedule and postings on the forum.
 
Member Al requested a show of hands of those interested in participating in the 4th of July Parade.  Interested parties were approximately 10-12, ten club members being requested so interest requirement has been satisfied by Al.  No hazardous driving or stunts were stressed by Al.
 
Al spoke about the Ft Warden Cruise is happening June 9th and will most likely start at the Hawks Prairie McDonalds in the morning.
 
Club member and Show Chair Dayna spoke about the status of the tshirts that will be club shirts, not just show shirts.  Dayna also presented the availability of club polo shirts in red white, and blue (with and without checkerboard around the collar), an outerbank style shirt, and a long sleeve Denim.  Those parties interested should place order with him prepaid by the next meeting of May to get one.
 
Club President Karena spoke about the upcoming All Star Ford Gathering and show tech on the 7th of April.  Gathering to take place at 9am at the dealership, and Al to bring the Mustangs West Banner.  Club Secretary Chris suggested to all to bring their detail supplies to compare with other members supplies.
 
Also mentioned by the President was the up and coming North Cascaded Show on the 15th of April.  Information regarding the Caravan from Olympia will be through email and the website and/or forum.
 
VP Jim made mention that this years Daffodil Parade will be much more organized, as it is being headed by Russ Wilcox.  Hermons, the maker of Mustang Beer, wants the mustangs attending the parade to be parked in front of their establishment.  Parade will be on the 21st of April.
 
President Karena reminded members that the Richland car show was the 27th of May, Memorial weekend. 
 
New member Louis spoke about the up and coming Nostalgia Drag Show at the Shelton Drag Strip July 6th-8th, and drag and Show and Shine the following weekend at Sanderson Airfield.  A flyer was given to Secretary Chris to try and post online.
 
Member Jon mentioned to everyone interested that this may be the last year for a photo-op with the P-51 Mustang at the Olympia Air Museum.
 
VP Jim spoke about M.A.D. Days at Fast Specialties May 19th and 20th for some Dyno Fun.
 
Club members Tim and Laura announced that they have purchased the coffee stand at the Fones Rd. Home Depot and informed the club that they will work on a 10% discount for all club members.
 
VP announced that he is building a new garage with lift and needs a contractor to do it.
 
Winners of the raffle were Gerald, Chuck and Jon.
